I've been taking pictures for all of
my life, ever since my mentor, Edith Stephenson, introduced me to bird photography way back in 1975. I started out as any kid would, using a Kodak Instamatic, with which I took photos through a pair of binoculars.

My first real camera was a Yashica Rangefinder, which didn’t last long and was quickly replaced by a Pentax SP-1000. Eventually, I upgraded to a Canon F-1N, and finally settling with Nikons for many years, both film and digital. I went through many years with Nikon digital models, my last one being the Z6-II. I moved to a Leica Q2 for a couple of years, but found it quite uninspiring.

In the beginning, my genres were nature and landscape photography, exploring the diverse world of Maine’s woods and wetlands. In the early 2000’s, I started to work with both musicians and models, and got my first professional gigs working for a studio owner shooting album covers and promo. In the early 2020’s, I expanded my expertise to include weddings.

Today, I photograph subjects of interest to me. My principal genres are nature (flora and fauna), landscape, and architecture. I love working with linear subjects, looking for fresh perspectives on oft-photographed scenes. And I love to shoot in black and white utilizing one of the best analog cameras ever made.
